Years and years ago in Halsam Lake Powell River, there was once upon a time a railroad, this railroad once went as far as Duck and Mud Lakes, and to LangBay, Myrtle Point, and even Grief Point. Later in the years, this railway supplied timber to the Irly Bird Lumber mill, there were many different companies over the years that travelled along these lines, and even today the old tresle that spanned the waterways can be seen. If you follow them, you will see the old rail lines and if you look hard enough you will find old artifacts like what I have pictured here can be found.
